Professional Photography

The Department of Professional Photography is an award-winning workforce education program in the Arts, Digital Media + Communications division of Austin Community College. We offer courses, certificates, and degrees in the craft and business of photography and lens-based media. We are here to help students define and prepare for a photographic life.

Students will need a computer, internet, webcam, and microphone prior to starting online courses. Students enrolled in photography courses must supply their own approved digital camera and two portable hard drives compatible with the Mac environment. Some courses may require the purchase of additional materials and may have meetings outside of scheduled class times. All photography courses qualify for discounted Adobe Creative Cloud access. Please use this link once registered to acquire license: https://www.austincc.edu/adobe-creative-cloud-acc

Our program mapping is part of ACC's implementation of guided pathways to help students finish college on time, prepare for employment, career advancement, or university transfer. Students are encouraged to review and follow program maps for our degree specializations and certificates. All prerequisites and corequisites are strictly enforced.
