This is a ZTC (Zero Textbook Cost) section. In place of required textbooks, all textbook materials needed for the class will be available online to students free of charge. Students may print copies of the resources but will be responsible for printing costs. Course materials may be Open Educational Resources (OER), see syllabus for specifics.Online courses eliminate geography as a factor.  MANDATORY Online orientation on course's ACC Blackboard site must be completed during the first week of class. Useful distance learning site: https://instruction.austincc.edu/students/kb/blackboard/.  Software and Hardware Requirements: Students must have a computer with a Windows operating system that capable of running the desktop version of ArcGIS Pro (system requirements). A webcam and a microphone are required for online exam proctoring, meetings, and tutoring sessions. Students must have access to a high-speed internet connection (at least 20 Mbps download speed). NOTE:
ArcGIS Pro only runs on the Windows operating system. It will not run on a Chromebook. Mac users will need to install either Apple Boot Camp or Parallels. Support for this setup will not be provided by GIS faculty.

Geographic Information Systems

A FREE student version of ArcGIS Pro will be provided to all classroom and online students.
