Mathematics - Developmental

Math Launch is a short course offered through ACC's Continuing Education department, staffed by ACC math instructors.  Math Launch is a low cost opportunity for students to review and refresh previously learned math topics, and to reassess with the chance of improving their initial developmental math placement. MATD 0485 Developing Mathematical Thinking

Developing Mathematical Thinking (MATD 0485) is a course for non-STEM students who will take either MATH 1332 Contemporary Math or MATH 1342 Elementary Statistics.  Students will be co-enrolled in NCBM 0222 Math Thinking Foundations.  Students who pass MATD 0485 with a C or better will complete TSI requirements in mathematics, but are only eligible to take MATH 1332 or MATH 1342.  Students who need to take MATH 1314 College Algebra, MATH 1414 College Algebra for Precalculus or MATH 1324 Math for Business and Economics MUST take MATD 0370 Elementary Algebra or the appropriate level corequisite course including their required college level course.  This course has RESTRICTED ENROLLMENT.  For more information go to https://sites.google.com/a/austincc.edu/math-students/matd/NCBM0222-MATD0485.

Course for students with TSI scores of 910-935 and diagnostic score 3 or 4.  Students with diagnostic scores of 1 or 2 need to enroll in ACC’s College Prep Program (https://www.austincc.edu/academic-and-career-programs/adult-education/college-prep-program).
