Classroom Sections - Instruction is delivered in-person with students in attendance for class meetings. An ACC ID card and personal safety measures will be required when on campus or on site. Note: Face-to-face (F2F) options include lectures, labs, practicums, clinicals, etc.

ARTS 2311 Design III (Color Theory)

A studio art course exploring the theoretical and practical study of color and composition in art and design. The course consists of studio-based projects using the formal and conceptual aspects of color. The course also examines the functions of color in art from different historical and cultural perspectives. Prerequisites: ARTS 1311 or departmental approval.

Development of painting skills, techniques, and aesthetic sensibilities related to artistic expression in oil and/or acrylic mediums. Emphasis on color and composition.
Prerequisites: ARTS 1316.

A continuation of Painting I with emphasis on development of independent problem solving and style in composition: figure, landscape, portrait painting, and still life.  Prerequisite: ARTS 2316-Painting I.

Art

16 Week Session: August 26 - December 15

ARTS 2389 Academic Cooperative

An instructional program designed to integrate on-campus study with practical hands-on work experience. In conjugation with class seminars, the individual students will set specific goals and objectives in the study of studio art and/or art history.   Prerequisites for Studio Arts path: ARTS 1311, 1312, 1316, ARTS 1304 or 1303, and another ARTS elective (or departmental approval).   Prerequisites for Art History path: ARTS 1301 OR ARTS 1316, ARTS 1303, ARTS 1304, ARTS 1311 (or departmental approval).  Students must be declared Art majors pursuing either the Studio Art path or Art History path.  Students should have successfully completed 30+ SCH toward the degree (or departmental approval). This course serves as the capstone class for the Associate of Arts degree in Art.
