Introduction to Directing.  This cooperative class will introduce key concepts for beginning directors of live theatrical productions.  Topics will include script analysis, conceptualization, and production team collaboration. Students will explore the basics of directorial beat work; staging, picturization, and blocking; productive rehearsal processes,  working with actors to develop characterization, and building effective narratives for the stage. It is recommended that students have completed the performance course sequence and have some production experience in hand. Enrollment requires departmental approval.
