This course is Hybrid, meaning that 50% of classes will be in person at HLC1 room 2211, and 50% will be online (non-synchronous), where students work at their own pace with consideration to work deadlines. Course schedule will be provided on the first day of class.This course involves an introductory application of technology within the hospitality industry. Specific software and hospitality trends are identified and analyzed enabling industry contextualization. Research of the various industry adoption of software provides strategies in the decision-making  process. Required textbook: Hospitality Information Technology:  Learning How to Use It 9th Edition

Internet Access is required. This class will be hybrid, meaning that the majority of our course will be online (non-synchronous), and there will be regular in person meetings as well. This class is a mixture of in-person classes and synchronous online classes.  Please plan on being on campus and the instructor will share the schedule for the class on the first day.  You will need to have access to a computer with a working camera and microphone to use for our synchronous online classes.  





Synchronous Online Sections

DLS (Synchronous Virtual Class Meetings Required). Course instruction is online. Course instruction includes required real-time virtual class meetings at the days and times listed. Tests will be taken online. Some tests may require proctoring. Students can access online proctoring on their own computer for free. Online courses eliminate geography as a factor.

This course will meet 5 times together online via Zoom (May 29, June 12, June 26, July 10, and July 24).  You will need to have access to a computer with a working camera and microphone. The student is responsible for engaging in an internship in the hospitality area of their choosing. Internships must start within the range of two weeks before to two weeks after the start of the semester. Course information will be provided on Blackboard on the first day of classes. HAMG 1191 Special Topics in Hospitality Administration and Management

This class is a one-hour credit class that covers skills needed for students such as resume writing, interviewing, and business and professional etiquette. It is strongly suggested that students take this class within one or two semesters of graduation. This class meets synchronously online together for each class meeting.  Be sure you have computer access with a working camera and microphone.  A Zoom link will be provided for the class. This course focuses on the career development process, such as constructing a resume, job search and interview process, networking, personal branding; as well as proper etiquette and protocols within business settings. Internet Access is required. No textbook is required, all reading material will be provided within Blackboard Modules. Please contact the instructor with any questions.
