ACC explores global hunger at Global Issues Spring Speaker series

Austin Community College (ACC) presents a discussion of global hunger at the 2019 Global Issues Speaker Series Wednesday, April 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastview Campus, Room 8500 (3101 Webberville Rd.).

ACC Philosophy adjunct professor Dr. Linda Cox will examine what is causing the rising global hunger rate and explore the most ethical way to help.

“After a decade of progress on global hunger, the rate is now rising. Once again, almost one billion people are undernourished," says Dr. Cox. "Women and girls in sub-Saharan African countries are the most at-risk. We need to explore why, and what we in the U.S. ought to do about it."

Hosted by ACC’s International Programs, the presentation is free and open to the public.
