Earning A's: Faculty and staff achievements, activities, and accolades

Teresa Garza, M.Ed, RT(R)(MR), Associate Professor, Diagnostic Medical Imaging - Radiology, received her Master of Arts in Education with a major in Technology from Texas State University on August 10, 2018. She was honored with induction into the Texas State University Honors Chapters of Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Chi.

Tracie Miller Nobles received an honorable mention for the 2018 Bea Sanders/AICPA Teaching Innovation Award by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). The award honors innovative teaching practices for first- and second-year accounting studies. Honorable mention went to Wendy Tietz (Kent State University) and Tracie Miller Nobles (Austin Community College) for their submission, “Data Analytics in Introductory Accounting.”

Dr. Stephanie Hawley was awarded the 2018 Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award for service in higher education and the Central Texas community. As associate vice president for the Office of Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Hawley promotes collaborative systemic change to support the success and inclusion of historically marginalized students.

Dr. Takietha Tucker, Vocational Nursing professor, obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in October.
